Lingard
Hearing noises that he is coming in on a short term end of the season contract to cover for kudos, Bowen and Paquetá

Probably makes sense but will ruffle feathers.

The blokes a nut, like Chris eubank. I saw some of his social media the other day and he’s lost the plot (if he had it)

Dunno. Cant see us buying anything worthwhile at all. Just adding more soon to be dead wood that we can't get rid of.

Bring back Johnny Moncur, he was great in the dressing room.

Re: Lingard
Yeah, I do think that. If the window was closed we're stuck in the place you've described but without the stinking plaster type players. Moyes would never turn to our youth players.

At least with the window open it give us an opportunity to do something about it.

Do you think? Surely if we spend anything it'll be crappy sticking plaster Ings type players that we won't need as soon as the injured players return. The injury crisis also stops us moving Ings or Antonio or anyone else on thus making it more difficult to get anyone in anyway.

Re: Lingard
Scott_d at this point I'd want him to pay us just to put him in the shop window plus he'd be using our facilities a bit like paying a gym membership!!!

Lingard hasn't played since April.

Re: Lingard
Considering no-one has paid him any interest and he couldn't even find a club in Saudi Arabia, he should bite our hand off for even a fraction of what he's been asking for.

We'll see if he actually has any intention of being a professional footballer or is happy farting around on instagram.

I'd say this was the best time it could happen, seeing as the window is open and we can buy players.

Re: Lingard
Lingard seemed too bond most with Rice who has long since departed so being changing room clown is not so much a necessity anymore now we dont need toys for boy wonder to play with.

Moyes had more than enough time to assess him in the summer and said 'no thanks'. In no way should we row back on that decision.

Re: Lingard
His purple patch started and ended while he was with us. He’s now finished as a top-level footballer. It was brilliant at the time though. Some great football.

Re: Lingard
Fuck that.

But Jesus Christ could our injury crisis have come at more of a bad time and if you wanted to cherry pick the worst possible few players to lose?

paulon 4:12 Wed Jan 10
Re: Lingard
Pointless. Any players who come in will have to be match fit and ready to play straight away with the injuries we've got

Lingard will be a month at least off it

Re: Lingard
Pros:

- Dressing room, apparently
- Moyes has shown he's able to get the best out of him
- If he can get some of his undoubted previous talent back, he can be a very potent player again
- He's eaten, or should have eaten, a fair amount of humble pie of late, which should do for any billy big bollocks inclination that may be lurking within

Cons:

- May be past it, particularly if he's not able to rediscover his best form
- Money-first attitude has not endeared him to fans
- Could be more expensive than he's worth

Re: Lingard
As MPI said, I think I'd prefer Ings to stay instead.

And Ings is good for the dressing room, so Lingards apparent role is already taken.
